The folks at Tor.com saw the TARDIS up on the roof of the Flatiron Building and invited me to check it out. I climbed all the way up, but when I got to the TARDIS I discovered that it was just… a BISCUIT JAR!!! And there weren’t even any Jammie Dodgers in it! So cruel. At least I got to see some amazing views of the New York skyline, especially the Empire State Building. Afterwards I even got a tour inside the Flatiron Building. Check back soon for those pictures!

I find this simply amazing. :) Coming out gay is hard enough…coming out gay in a religious family is scaryyyyyyy….coming out gay in a BLACK religious family is a different level, and coming out gay in a black religious family FROM THE SOUTH is about as difficult as it gets!
Somehow, though - this mother, even as a “believer” exhibits UNCONDITIONAL love and acceptance of her son. So, it IS possible! You can tell there are still some things she feels uncomfortable or unsure about, but, you can also tell that a LOT of progress has been made in their relationship, and more importantly, in the way she thinks….
I happen to be both an atheist AND an anti-theist. I despise religion. This does NOT mean that I despise religious PEOPLE, although, a lot of the time - I end up despising their words and actions…which, essentially, all comes back around to WHY they think, speak, and act the way they do - and these things are almost ALWAYS rooted in what they believe and WHY. Anti-theist as I am, honestly, if all people (like this lovely mother in the vid), kept their personal belief PERSONAL- and didn’t use it as an excuse to hate or to judge others, ohhhhh what a different world this would be!!
